Ladycups are nice and soft cups, so much easier to insert and wear than other cups... But indeed it takes a little bit of time to get used to removal, but it's really worth it
it's almost the only cup I didn't have flaw with !
I'm not making this up !
In my opinion best colours are orange and green; I don't like blue and lilac... Yellow and pink are so so, and I dunno Lotos !

I’ve just started using my new Lady Cup yesterday. I did a lot of research about menstrual cups years ago, then chickened out. Since I use cloth pads I decided take the leap and go entirely GREEN this year.
I too got mine from Ebay and it did ship very quickly considering how far it traveled. I want to give some good feedback about this cup, and hope to hear from any of you.
Melissa, your site has been very informative and your videos truly helpful.
I chose the Lady Cup large in green because:
I have a very heavy flow
I am over 30, but am not a mom...yet
The rim sounded sturdy enough to pop into place
The texture sounded soft and flexible for easy insertion
Green is my favorite color
I was lucky enough to start my cycle over this weekend, so I had the option to stay home if I needed to. I followed all of Melissa’s instructions on sterilizing it and folding techniques. I decided not to cut the stem yet until I had a chance to practice, in case I couldn’t reach it.
Insertion
Yesterday was my first day, and I struggled with two things. The folding technique, and my discovery that I have a LOW cervix. I quickly ran back to Melissa’s blog and read some more about these issues. It’s just amazing how we are all beautifully and wonderfully made...and different!
I had a hard time because I was trying to insert it too far and when it popped open, I felt someone had punched my soul! My cervix was much lower than I thought. Also, for me, the best fold is the C fold, and specifically inserting it with the C facing DOWN like an inverted U. It went much smoother, and I just let it pop into place as soon as it went in without any pain.
INCREDIBLY I really can’t feel it now that it’s in the right place. However, the stem is low and sticks out a bit, so I will try to trim it after a few more tries.
My second struggle was that I left it in too long, for my heavy flow, and it really became too full. Removal was a little messy so I was glad to be home for the first try.
Removal
Melissa’s tips on pinching it as close to the top as you can worked GREAT! I really don’t think I would have been able to get it out otherwise because of the suction that is created.
The Lady Cup is particularly slippery just as she said, so having a tissue handy helped too. All tips from Melissa!
My only problem is that I leak, but after reading about cervix positions it makes some sense that this would happen to me. I also tend to have very bad cramps my first two days, and they have been pretty bad. I suspect it might be because my body is getting used to the cup being in place.
Today things are going much smoother and I can’t say how good it feels not having to use tampons, or pads. I simply back up my cup with a cloth panty liner that catches any leaks, and I soak it and wash it in the shower for my next use.
My Husband
has been very supportive, especially since now he wont have to worry about my tampons clogging up our septic system. No matter how careful I was flushing them separately from my toilet paper, our system STILL would back up, and he had to go out there and RotoRooter our pipes!

Its great that the tips helped you out, that lets me know the info is doing some good out there.
As for the leaks... That's the only thing that really urks me about the advertizements... There are several companies that say "maximum 12 hour protection", which can be a bit misleading... That time is the maximum not because that's the capacity (for most women), but because from a health standpoint, medical professionals don't recomend leaving it in loger than that without emptying.
But very few women can leave a cup in for 12 hours without leaks... Only on a really light day, or if someone has a very light flow. Everyone else with normal to heavy flows usually needs to empty it every 3 to 8 hours, sometimes 10.
If your flow is heavy enough to where you have to empty it more often, that's ok. Emptying it more frequently is a great way to avoid leaks and spilling during removal.
But if it leaks even when its not full, it could be a size issue... I always say I know virgins who use larges, and mommies who use smalls. It could also be a brad thing. I've a couple of women leak, and leak, with one brand (both sizes), but not with another brand. Play around with positioning and such, see if there is any change. Lots of women like to let the cup pop open when its halfway in, then coax it up the rest of the way (I do).
Cramps, sometimes mine can get worse if the cup is in a funny position. After I insert, what usually helps that is once the cup is all the way in and completely opened up, I tilt it forward, back, left right... Maybe give it a twist. That tends to "settle" everything, and get the cervix fitted to a comfy spot where it can can just flow easy.

Leaks :(

Thank you for your suggestions Melissa. I actually left the house today and was a little nervous but...a girl's gotta go to work! I checked it more often too. I do still have leakage and tried what you suggested:
Letting the cup pop open and moving it up
Twisting and re-positionning
This minimized my cramps today. I will try it for another couple of months and see if after that it still leaks. It might just be that I need to get used to it. I do love it though!
