Spilling Blood with my Lunette.....
I just noticed this weekend that I've been spilling blood on removal with my Lunette, but not the Meluna. I actually found 6 or 7 spots of blood down the front of my jeans after I'd emptied my cup. I still can't understand how it got on there. The spots were each about half an inch across, so not tiny spots and I wouldn't have been happy if I'd been out and about!
I can only think that I'm folding the rim more to get it out with the Lunette because I find the cup more painful to remove than the Meluna.
Anybody else found this?
The cup wasn't full, probably about half to two thirds at most.

Did you stand up at any point? I only know that while wearing pads i've had to make sure/be hopeful i'm not drippy. Though i can't quite imagine drops down the front of jeans.

I don't really "spill" upon removal unless my cup is much too full. But sometimes there is a string of blood on the rim. I just keep toilet paper on hand to dab the sides before I move the cup away from the toilet.
But for spilling, yeah, its possible that folding the lunette might be causing it. Especially if its really full. If that's the case, you might be able to avoid it by emptying lunette a little more often than you would a meluna. The less a cup has in it, less likely it is to spill, even if you do fold it, I find.
Also I agree with michelleke, it could be from your body rather than the cup.

Thanks both
Yes, I did stand up - I never thought about that before. I think that might be the reason, on reflection. I did sit down to empty it the next few times and didn't get any drippages.

Hmmm, sounds like you might have found the problem. Try it a few more times, and report back, I hope that was indeed the answer
I think maybe my flow is just extremely thick or something, because I've never had issues with bodily leaking, ya know? But my mother... Oh poor thing, her flow was so heavy she would fill up super pads and soak right through them, it would run down her legs... I wonder if she would have had any luck with a cup, back when she still had periods. Wish we would have known about them then
