cups and longer periods
Hi,
I have been a cup user for three months. Before cups I was using tampons. My cycle would last three days and then it would be over. Since I have started wearing cups I notice that my period last seven days? Has anyone else had this problem? Some people are many forums said theirs was shorter well mine is longer I was wondering why is that?

Re: cups and longer periods
Hmmm, not sure of any medical reasons why that could be, but mine did get a little shorter. But maybe every 3rd period or so, I might have a crazy, wacky one that is just unrpedictable, lol. Like this one! Its early, and longer/heavier/mroe painful than usual.
Maybe your body just senses a change in routine, so its acting different. Mine did that the first time I used a cup. I think on my second cup cycle, I had a FREAKISHLY heavy flow. Then later, it got lighter and a little shorter. Our bodies can be so weird sometimes

Hum that make sense. Maybe you are right. Hum strange but yes the body does wired things.
Re: cups and longer periods
I have been tracking my period with using cups and cloth pads. I have seen a definite change in the way my period feels ( like cramps and such). But there is not really any proof that there is any change to the length of your period. Our bodies change with age, and so will our periods. Some times it will be longer and sometimes it will be shorter. Same with it being heavy or light, and cramps from hell and barely any cramps. I have asked medical professionals about this in length. The only reason we have been able to come up with is that, the lack of chemicals interacting with our bodies helps our periods be more natural. But menstruation is not something we can predict.
